All-Mighty God our Creator and Sustainer. Our Savior and our Lord. You have appointed a day through earthly authorities to give honor to those who serve as fathers to your human daughters and sons. And with awe and reverence for your heavenly example, we ask for your continued blessing upon these fragile souls. We recognize that the role that they have been given, even if unwittingly, is a difficult one. We recognize that the place they have been thrust into, even if accidentally, is an important one. And we also recognize that some out of ignorance have rejected the divine assignment that they themselves initiated through careless actions. But we lift all of these men to you and plead with you, oh God, to do the following:
Omniscient God, sharpen their minds to think, reason, and remember, so that they can better understand the responsibilities they have to protect, provide for, and teach their children; and give them Your wisdom to carry it all out in accordance with your divine will.
All powerful Lord, strengthen their bodies so that they can carry the weight of their duties without succumbing to weariness or disease.
Merciful Savior, please soften their hearts so that they love You with all of their being, and so that they deal with their children and the children’s mothers with compassion.
And finally, Divine Anointed One, fill them with your Holy Spirit so that they are empowered to do your will, to discern your direction, and to overcome the enemy of their and their children’s souls and destiny.
